Site Dashboard

The Site Dashboard is the main hub for all management tasks for a particular site.

If you are an administrator or a regular user with access to more than one site you will access the Site Dashboard using the available shortcuts on the Administration Dashboard. For regular users that are only allowed access to a single site you will be taken to the Site Dashboard after you login into ColdBricks.

The following image shows an screenshot of how the Site Dashboard looks like:

Site Dashboard Quick Reference

Description
Clicking on this button will open the current site on a new browser window.
Clicking on this button will open the current site on a new browser window, but will also cause the site to reinitialize itself. Reinitializing a site is a way of forcing the site to reload its configuration, and clear its caches. You must reset a site after making a change that involves the site configuration.
The HomePage icon offers a quick way to allow site managers to rapidly access the initial (or default) page of a site so that it can be edited. Clicking on this icon will open the Page Editor screen with the current site's initial page already loaded. The Page Editor screen is where you can make changes to a page.
Click on the Resources icon to open the Resource Management screen. Resources in ColdBricks are reusable elements that can be used throughout the site. There are several types of resources: modules, contents, feeds, skins, and HTML snippets; each of which is used on a different context.

All resources in a site are grouped into 'Resource Libraries'. Typically each site has at least one Resource Library.

From the Resource Management screen you can review the resource libraries available to the current site. Additionally you can create, modify and delete resources.
This icon will take you to the Site Settings screen. From this screen you can modify the configuration for the current site. In HomePortals, site configuration is a two step process; first the base configuration is read and then the configuration specific for a site is read. Thus, the second config can overwrite whatever settings are defined on the base config.
Clicking on the download icon will allow you to download and save a ZIP file containing the entire site.
The Resources Summary panel lists all types of resources and how many resources of each type exist on the Resource Library. Clicking on a resource type will open the Resource Management screen and display the list of entries for the selected type.
The Site Information panel displays basic information about the site and provides a blank space where you can write some notes. These notes are only for internal use within ColdBricks and are completely optional.
